The Amherst NH July 4th celebration is scheduled to begin the evening of
, July 3rd, with the parade to follow on the 4th. The theme
for the 2011 parade is “Traditions in Amherst”. The event is centered around the Amherst NH Village Green as it is every year.

July 3 kicks off at Souhegan High School at 530 PM with fireworks at dusk.

The celebration starts at 9 AM with an Art show on the Amherst Village Green, the Historical Society Museum will be open, You'll see Uncle Sam walking around on stilts, the Music Man Quartet performs at 930 AM, the Kid's Bicycle Parade is at Knight's Field at 10 AM.
The Parade of course starts at Wilkins School at 10 AM with bands, floats, mini entries, antique cars
(one of my favorites), NH Regiments, Marchers, Clowns, dogs and more.
A can't miss is Puppies on Parade at Spaulding Field.
The review stand on the Green follows the Parade.
The Antique Car show starts at 11 AM on the North side of the Green.
Since this is the beginning of the 2012 election process, expect many candidates.
