This sounds like fun and a great way to get out there in Merrimack NH and garden, grow some food, get some fresh air and exercise.
Seems
that families, couples, singles and organizations in Merrimack have
gotten together to plant and tend the Merrimack Community Garden plots.
Some gardeners visit weekly, some daily to water, weed and nurture
their gardens.
The local Girl Scout troubles 10731 and 10913 also got involved and are enjoying watching their vegetables grow.
More than 20 plots are still available for
Merrimack residents. A fee of $10 per plot, paid to the town’s
Agricultural Commission, secures the privilege of growing one’s own
produce, all season long.
The land, provided by the Parks and
Recreation Department, is adjacent to the driveway that is the entrance
to the park at 116 Naticook Road.
So take a ride over to
Wasserman Park in Merrimack and check it out, you will see string beans,
tomatoes, peppers, squash, eggplant, broccoli (oops the woodchuck got
some of the broccoli).
This is another great example of why residents choose to call Merrimack NH their home. Good job guys.
